First Aid for Depression
If you think someone may be depressed and in need of help, it is important you speak to them. You should choose a suitable time and a space where you both feel comfortable. Let the individual know that you are available for a talk when they are ready. Privacy and confidentiality are important in these situations.
When you speak with the individual, look for any signs of crisis. The following may be associated with depression:
- Suicidal thoughts & behaviours
Non-judgemental listening and communicating is one of the five basic steps for MHFA®. With our mental health courses, you will be trained to do so. You will need to be aware of this type of approach and increase your skills in this area. This will give you the confidence you need when dealing with a crisis.
At Sanitas Hub, we work with the MHFA England® framework to deliver courses to various organisations. We understand that each organisation’s culture is different. Therefore, it is essential to understand those within it to maintain a healthy workplace. We are committed to ensuring everyone receives a safe, educational and high quality experience.
Mental Health First Aid® is important.

About Lambeth & Southwark
Lambeth & Southwark consists of two boroughs. Both are connected by bridges across the River Thames to the City of London. There are many things to see and do around the area. Take in the stunning panoramic views from the Tower Bridge and watch the world go by.
Visit Shakespeare’s Globe, the replica of the original Globe Theatre. It is a world-renowned performing arts venue that shows staged plays every summer. Southwark Cathedral dates back to the 12th Century. Sat on the bank of the River Thames, it is the oldest church building in the City.
If you’re looking to experience world cuisine, London’s Borough Market has been trading since the 13th Century. It is one of the largest and old food markets in the area. The market provides a hub for a range of traders, producers, shoppers and more.
