What is Anxiety?
Everyone experiences anxiety one way or another. It is a natural response and is useful in helping us avoid dangerous situations. Anxiety can vary in severity and how long it lasts. Furthermore, it can manifest itself in several different ways; physically, psychologically and behavioural.
If you have concerns that someone you know may be experiencing difficulties with anxiety, it is important to approach them in a helpful way. Initiate a conversation about how they are feeling in a space you both feel comfortable. Be mindful of their personal space and respect their privacy, unless you are concerned that they are at risk of harming themselves or others.
At Sanitas Hub, our MHFA® training courses provide you with the skills to support individuals. As Mental Health First Aiders®, it is important to remember that recovery from anxiety involves facing provoking situations. However, it is important not to force people into situations.
We are MHFA® England affiliated professionals.

The Impact of Mental Health
Unfortunately, many people with mental health problems don’t receive any professional help. 792 million people are affected by mental health issues worldwide. Additionally, mental illness is the second-largest source of burden of disease in England. It is essential that individuals get the support they need.
People who experience poor mental health may face overwhelming difficulties. This can be made worse due to lack of support. MHFA® training courses equip you with the tools and techniques to help you and others. It is very important to remember those who experience mental ill health can live a meaningful life.
